Friends of the Manhattan Beach Library will continue to support the Manhattan Beach community and accept donations at the Joslyn Community Cneter while the new library building is under construction.


A donation dropbox has been installed in the Joslyn Community Center parking lot in Manhattan Beach.

Book Mobile
 

On June 1, 2013 the Manhattan Beach Public Library officially closed for renovations.  A community bookmobile will be in the library parking lot during the following hours to serve the needs of library patrons:



Tuesday - Thursday:  2:00 PM - 6:00 PM  

Saturday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Sunday and Monday: Closed



 

Library Construction News 

The Manhattan Beach Public Library closed in 2013 to be replaced by a new, modern, 2 story building (depicted below) at the same location scheduled to be opening in Spring 2015.

About the Manhattan Beach Public Library


The library became part of the County of Los Angeles Public Library system in January 1915, making it one of the oldest continuing libraries in the county system. The library moved into its first location in a separate library building in 1957, and to its present location on November 1, 1975.
